This project aims to redesign the product catalog with a new layout that prioritizes informative content and user guidance at the front, while relocating technical details like part numbers to a dedicated section in the back. The current catalog presents part numbers too early in the browsing experience, which can overwhelm users and detract from understanding product features, applications, or benefits.
The redesigned catalog will guide users through product families before directing them to an organized part number index or table at the end. This structure is designed to improve clarity, product comprehension, and overall navigation.
Develop a new catalog layout that emphasizes product education and information in the front, with part numbers and technical specs consolidated at the back for streamlined user experience.
Begin the redesign process by understanding the current catalog’s pain points, clearly defining the needs of both technical and non-technical users, and aligning internal goals around sales enablement, usability, and brand consistency.
Conduct an internal review with Sales, and Product teams, gather feedback from end users such as dealers.
Deliver the final print catalog files, along with layout templates and a style guide to support consistency and efficiency in future updates.
For the catalog cover, we wanted to create a visually engaging design that immediately showcases the diverse applications of our products. By highlighting the different areas where the products can be effectively used, the cover serves as a powerful introduction that captures attention and communicates versatility. By using compelling imagery, and concise messaging, the cover will guide viewers to understand at a glance how our solutions meet a variety of needs—inviting them to explore further inside the catalog. This approach not only reinforces the practical value of our offerings but also sets the tone for an information-rich, user-focused experience throughout the catalog.
Ultimately, the stakeholders decided to feature only text on the cover, which is reflected in the final design.
